About a year ago, a lovely young woman from Concordia College called me to update my alumni profile with the college.  Her name was Erin Thompson.  As we were talking, I got a chance to tell her about the book I had just written following my breast cancer battle.  She was excited and touched that I had written a book which might help other people cope with a breast cancer or other cancer diagnosis.  She said she was going to let their Alumni Office know about the book, so perhaps I could be invited to participate in their alumni authors’ book signing event, which indeed happened during Concordia College Homecoming Registration on Friday, October 11th.  Her outreach is also the reason why my book is now available in the Cobber Bookstore on campus.  Erin came to see me on October 11th to meet me in person, and during our conversation, she asked if I would complete an interview with her so she could submit an article to the High Plains Reader.  I told her of course, I would be happy to complete the interview.

So several Fridays later, Erin came over to our condo, listened intently, took notes, and wrote an article for the High Plains Reader.  I want to thank her so much for her compassion, generosity of spirit, leadership, and tenacity to help me get the word out about my breast cancer battle and book, “Boundless Blessings and God’s Grace:  My Journey through Breast Cancer.”  Through our collaboration, perhaps more people will be proactive regarding their breast and overall health, and we might just save a life.  Thank you again, Erin, for being an outstanding young person who took time to care about my story, and for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers in the future.  I am grateful, and I know God is smiling down on you because of your beautiful heart and character.  In faith and with appreciation – Cindy
